‘The Committee of the Eid Festival in Leicester’ would like to invite people from all communities (males and females) to volunteer to help us perform the many activities required on the Eid Day. Volunteering for good causes such as ‘the Eid Prayer & Festival’ and for the sake of Allah is an important part of the day-to-day life of every Muslim. It is deeply seated in the heart of the teaching of Allah (SWT) and His messenger (SAAW). Allah says, “And whoever does good willingly, Allah is truly Appreciative, All-Knowing” (Quran, C2, V158) and “But whoever volunteers to give more, it is better for them” (Quran, C2, V184).

𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐮𝐞: 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐤 𝐋𝐞𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐋𝐄𝟏 𝟕𝐑𝐘
The ‘Eid Prayer and Festival’ is an event that takes place twice a year. The first festival is Eidul-Fitr Breakfasting festival) and the second festival is Eid-ul-Adhha (Slaughtering festival)
Usually, more than 20-30K attends the Eid festival and are of various ages, colours, and racial and religious backgrounds.
𝐕𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐢𝐝 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬:
✓ Understanding the role and responsibilities as well as the rules and safety regulations of the event.
✓ Completing the relevant training and asking questions if you are uncertain about anything.
✓ Completing all duties assigned by the supervisor and reporting any issues immediately.
✓ Observing the rules and safety regulations of the Management while carrying out tasks.
✓ Making recommendations for improvement where feasible and appropriate.
✓ Delivering reports if necessary.
✓ Communicating with the supervisor or relevant stakeholders.
• All volunteers will be wearing a hi-vis top.
• Most volunteers will be provided with a walkie-talkie two ways radio.
• All the volunteers are trustworthy individuals within the community.
• All volunteers will be provided with food and drinks if they wish.
Management staff will be responsible for all decision making on the Eid day.
